The tape is white and tears off in small strips, the tape has an adhesive backing. The white liquid correction fluid is used to do the same thing. It is applied and then left to dry, the new word or words are placed on top of the dried substance. One of the members of the musical group The Monkees' mother invented the white liquid correction fluid.
